One of the workshops in which I took part in 2021 was “Mapping a Sense of Place” by Matt Harris which was held in the lovely village of Tollesbury, Essex, over two days. I always enjoy Matt’s workshops – I just always seem to get a lot out of them. It was held in August and even though the weather was very variable, from bright and sunny to torrential rain, it did not dampen any spirits.
Initially we were asked to take a walk around Tollesbury, gathering photos, objects, memories and thoughts while Matt prepared surfaces for us to work on when we returned. Below are some photos I took at the time – collecting line, shape and colour – and a few images of some of the work that I did.
