East Anglian Stitch Textiles are pleased to introduce their new 2021 exhibition “Transformation”. Each week we will tempt you with a feature snapshot of a different EAST artist. Keep an eye on our website and social media links for all the latest information on this exciting new body of work.
This week, week 11 of our exhibition Preview, shows details from the work of Vinny Stapley.
A fascination with the flora of the salt marsh and shorelines deepened during lockdown walks, the eye focusing on the plants to develop an installation of lens like flora discs. Vinny has also created hanging veils, firstly, one in tribute to purslane which grows in profusion and, secondly, the rarer sea holly which is fast disappearing from shorelines.
